Chelsea Group of Children is an extraordinary school that is a refuge for learning. Here the distinctive individual educational requirements are met by teachers and therapists. There is a caring, dedicated staff who creates an environment that is personalised and unique. The school is a team of students, staff and families working together so each child is supported to develop to his or her full potential.
I have known from the age of eight that I wanted to be a teacher. It never was a path I questioned; that path led me to the Chelsea Group of Children. Over the past twelve years, I have been able to help young students use their strengths to develop confidence in their own ability to achieve. As Head Teacher at CGC, I have been able to help shape the culture that makes this school a distinctive educational setting. I love the challenge, everyday is different; I am able to see the students grow, change, progress and become exceptional, confident individuals. At CGC, we are all a part of the community directing the development of each young person. My favourite quote probably best describes my direction in life:
“To laugh often and much; To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; To earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; To appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.” Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803 – 1882) American Essayist & Poet
